Alternatively, the country could also end or suspend the current program to ease tensions with the Americans. Also according to the report, Iranian authorities recently met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to evaluate the possibility of sending enriched uranium to Russia. A similar measure was adopted in 2015, within the scope of an international agreement on the nuclear program. At the time, Iran committed to limiting nuclear activities in exchange for relief from international sanctions. More than 11 tons of low-enriched uranium were sent to Russia.
