The Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo decided to mobilize the Crisis Office, in person, this Monday (23), to monitor and coordinate actions in response to the intense rains that continue to hit the São Paulo Coast.
The warning for heavy rain has been extended and remains in effect throughout the day. The initiative came after, in the last 48 hours, rainfall reached high volumes in different parts of the region, with emphasis on Peruíbe, with 271 millimeters, and Ubatuba, with 235 millimeters, which significantly increases the risk of landslides, falling barriers and flooding.
According to the government of the State of São Paulo, state and municipal Civil Defense teams remain in the field, especially in risk areas, carrying out inspections, preventive monitoring and providing guidance to the population.
The Crisis Office will be set up from 8am to 8pm today, at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, where Civil Defense technicians will continue to monitor events.
