The Federal Court in Brasília decided to maintain the fine of R$95.8 million applied by the National Electric Energy Agency against Enel, an electric energy concessionaire that operates in São Paulo.
The fine was imposed due to failures in the energy supply in 2021. The decision was confirmed by the Attorney General’s Office (AGU), which represented Aneel in court and defended the maintenance of the penalty.
The recurring blackouts in São Paulo are analyzed by an AGU working group. In January of this year, President Lula ordered the body to evaluate the measures adopted by Enel.
