This Sunday (22), the Bafta (British Academy of Film and Television Art) will be held, considered the “British Oscar”. The award crowns the main directions of the season. The event will be held at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
In total, around 26 categories will be awarded, including some exclusive to British productions. Among them, Brazil stands out in four categories: Best Original Screenplay and Best Non-English Language Film, both with “The Secret Agent”; Best Documentary, with “Apocalypse in the Tropics”; and Best Cinematography, with Adolpho Veloso in “Sonhos de Trem”.
In 2026, actor Alan Cumming takes charge of the BAFTA presentation, replacing David Tennant. Cumming comes into the spotlight after presenting the North American version of the reality show The Traitors.
