Chemical recycling is not a single technology, but a set of processes. “This is a group of technologies that can be divided into two large families: depolymerization and thermal processes”, explains Jean-Yves Daclin, general director of Plastics Europe in France, an entity that represents the plastics industry and brings together companies such as BASF, Eastman, ExxonMobil, Ineos, LyondellBasell, Shell and TotalEnergies.
