A Chamber of Deputies approved, in the early hours of this Wednesday (25), a bill that grants exemption from import tax for equipment used in the manufacture of data centers and eliminates the collection of taxes on the export of services in the sector.
The proposal was presented by the government leader in the House, José Guimarãesand replaces a provisional measure previously sent by the federal government. The objective is to encourage the installation of data center companies in Brazil, in a segment that is growing rapidly on a global scale. The text now moves on to analyzing the Federal Senate.
Data centers are structures designed to store and process information. Among the main types are cloud data centers.
