The Chamber of Deputies approved, this Monday (2), the basic text of the Provisional Measure that establishes the “Gás do Povo” program. The federal program that since November has provided gas refills for 13 kg cylinders to low-income families.
The program, which began serving ten capitals, included the other 17 in January and will reach all municipalities in March, when 15 million families and up to 50 million people will benefit.
Deputies still need to vote on the highlights, which would be possible adjustments to the text, for it to be approved.
“Gás do Povo” is one of Lula’s electoral showcases for 2026.
