Records of robberies and cell phone thefts dropped by 6% in the State of São Paulo in 2025, according to data from the Public Security Secretariat.
In comparison with 2024, the total number of occurrences increased from 270 thousand 549 to 254 thousand 459, indicating a reduction in the main indicator of this type of crime throughout São Paulo. When only cell phone theft cases are analyzed, the drop is more significant, a reduction of close to 18%, which represents almost twenty-two thousand fewer incidents.
The Government of São Paulo reinforced its actions to combat robberies and theft of cell phones throughout São Paulo, with specific actions to prevent the actions of gangs involved in receiving stolen products.
