The Italian courts will resume this Thursday (12) the trial that will decide on the extradition of former deputy Carla Zambelli. The action is judged by the Court of Appeal in Rome.
One of Zambelli’s lawyers and the lawyer appointed by the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) to monitor the case in the country are expected to speak at this Thursday’s session. The trial has already been postponed four times.
On Tuesday (10), the Italian court denied the request presented by the former deputy’s defense to replace the judges responsible for the case.
Carla Zambelli has been detained in the women’s penitentiary since July 29, 2025. She was sentenced by the Federal Supreme Court to 10 years in prison for breaking into the systems of the National Council of Justice, engaging in armed persecution and fleeing to Italy after the trial’s decision.
