A bus overturned this Tuesday morning (3) in the municipality of São José da Tapera, in the Sertão de Alagoas, leaving 15 dead and several injured. The information was confirmed by the Government of Alagoas.
The vehicle was carrying around 60 passengers. Among the dead were five men, seven women and three children. The names and ages of the victims have not yet been released.
In a statement, the Government of Alagoas reported that it had mobilized an integrated task force to assist victims. The operation includes aircraft from the State Department of Aviation (DEA), the Mobile Emergency Assistance Service (Samu), the Alagoas Military Fire Department (CBMAL) and the Military Police, through the Highway Police Battalion (BPRv) and the 7th PM Battalion.
The Government reinforces that official information and updates on the case will be released exclusively by the State Secretariat for Communication.
