That day, Delcy took charge of the country following a Supreme Court decision. The interim president was officially sworn in at a ceremony at the National Assembly two days after the United States operation. Since then, Venezuela has been adopting measures under strong pressure from the Donald Trump government. In the interview with Newsmax, Jorge Rodríguez stated that, at the moment, there are no conditions for holding elections with the aim of forming a new government. According to him, national stability is a requirement for holding the election. “We are currently working on what we call the reinstitutionalization of the country, so that each institution can return to fully exercising its functions and be recognized by everyone,” he said. “We will work on a schedule that is convenient for everyone and that guarantees not only those who win, but also those who do not win, that all guarantees will be maintained and offered by both parties involved.” See the videos that are trending on g1 According to the Venezuelan Supreme Court’s decision, Delcy must lead the country on an interim basis for 90 days. The text was approved in the first vote on Thursday (5). The following day, Jorge Rodríguez promised definitive approval for this Tuesday (10), with the release of all prisoners by Friday (13). The second round of voting, however, was postponed. MORE
