Bodies of 8 missing skiers are found after avalanche in California; searches continue for 1 person

Capt. Russell Greene of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said authorities were notified by the ski company leading the expedition, Blackbird Mountain Guides, as well as by emergency signals sent by locators the skiers carried. Rescuers advanced cautiously due to the risk of further avalanches.
