Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny was responsible for livening up the Super Bowl halftime show, the final of the National Football League (NFL), the American football league and valued Latin American culture.
The presentation took place entirely in Spanish and lasted around 13 minutes at Levi’s Stadium, in San Francisco, in the state of California. The setting chosen for the presentation made references to the album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which won the Grammy for “Best Album” in 2025. Two singers were invited to make special appearances, also Puerto Rican Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga.
On social media, the show was widely discussed, but two moments caught the public’s attention. When the singer hands over the Grammy trophy, music’s biggest award, to a child representing the young man he was. Another moment that stood out occurs when Bad Bunny shouts “God bless America”, a phrase generally used by Americans, and then begins to mention all the countries that make up the continent.
This was the Puerto Rican singer’s first headlining performance at the Super Bowl, but his second appearance at the event. The first time happened in 2020, alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.
Donald Trump criticizes halftime show
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, criticized the performance performed by singer Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl.
Trump did not name the singer, but said the halftime show was “absolutely terrible.” The Republican said the performance was an “affront to the greatness of America and does not represent our standards of success.” The President of the United States also called the dance “disgusting”. And he said that “this ‘show’ is a slap in the face of our country”.
Bad Bunny performed at halftime of the grand final of the American Football League in the United States. The game, between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, took place at Levi’s Stadium, in California, with the Seahawks winning 29-13 and winning the second league title in the history of the Washington team.
