The Iranian Ministry of Education reported that 53 girls died in the Israeli attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school in Minab, in the south of the country. Others 48 students suffered injuries in the same incident.
Iranian authorities said rescue teams were working at the school with 170 students to clear rubble and treat the injured.
The attack occurred this Saturday (28), in attacks led by the United States and Israel against Iran. Bombings hit areas close to Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan. In response, Iran fired missiles and drones at American bases in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, and at targets in Israel, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said.
Israel and US target Iranian leaders after diplomatic failure
Israeli state television KAN reported that US and Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran’s supreme leader, the Ayatollah. Ali Khameneiand the Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkianbased on government sources.
Qatar’s Defense Ministry said its Armed Forces intercepted several missiles before they crossed the country’s airspace.
The confrontation comes after the failure of negotiations between the US and Iran, considered by analysts as the last diplomatic chance. Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he never supported the possibility of allowing Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon.
