Federal deputy Arthur Lira (PP) confirmed this Wednesday (11) his pre-candidacy for the Federal Senate and announced that he will promote, in the first half of March 2026, a major event in Maceió with the aim of mobilizing leaders from the capital and all municipalities in Alagoas.
The political act will officially mark the beginning of its journey towards the dispute and should bring together mayors, former mayors, councilors, community leaders, representatives of the productive sector, professional associations and various segments of organized civil society from all regions of Alagoas.
When talking about the new moment, Arthur Lira highlighted that he will continue to prioritize the defense of municipalities and the search for more investments for the State. “Alagoas needs to grow. Our commitment is to guarantee more resources, more structural works and more opportunities for all regions”, stated Lira.
Allies highlight that the meeting will symbolize the union of political forces around a project aimed at strengthening cities and expanding Alagoas’ representation in the National Congress.
In his fourth term as federal deputy, Arthur Lira has already presided over the Chamber of Deputies, a period in which he played a central role in articulating economic agendas and in dialogue between the Powers, consolidating himself as one of the main leaders of the Brazilian Parliament.
