In a decree signed on Wednesday (18), the Army made official the retirement of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp.
Mauro Cid was transferred to the paid reserve as of March 2, with the salary he was entitled to. The ordinance was signed by Brigadier General Luiz Duarte de Figueiredo Neto, current director of Army Personnel Assistance.
The transfer comes after the soldier requested early retirement in August, shortly before being convicted in the coup investigation. The request was accepted in January by the Army command. With his official retirement, Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp will have to leave the official Army home where he lives with his family in Brasília’s Vila Militar.
