In a decision published this Monday (2), the National Health Surveillance Agency ordered the precautionary ban on a batch of semi-skimmed condensed milk from the La Vaquita brand by the company Apti Alimentos Limitada.
According to Anvisa, the batch of condensed milk failed the microbiological test Staphylococcus Coagulase Positive, the ECP, which measures the amount of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in food, drinks and packaging. The presence of this bacteria at high levels can cause food poisoning, among other illnesses. The measure is valid for lot 183/3 B.
In an official note, the company Apti Alimentos stated that the product is not part of its portfolio and that it was wrongly associated by the health surveillance agency.
