André Mendonça guarantees “total freedom” to the PF in the Master case

by Marcelo Moreira

This Thursday (19), according to reports from reporter Caiã Messina, the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and new rapporteur of the Banco Master case, André Mendonça, authorized the Federal Police (PF) to have complete freedom to continue with the investigation.

Colleagues would be pressuring the minister to invalidate the material “found by the PF and which was not subsequently communicated” to the court. Among the main seizures is the content that references minister Dias Toffoli, extracted from the cell phone of Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master.

Within the Federal Supreme Court there is a wing that maintains that the minister was the target of an investigation by the Federal Police, a version contested by the delegates responsible. If this thesis advances, there is the possibility that evidence will be annulled. On the other hand, André Mendonça has signaled that he does not intend to accept this argument.

In a conversation with the PF, the minister stated that he is currently handling “the two most controversial cases on the Esplanada”: the Master case and the one related to the INSS robbery. According to him, he wants the decisions made in these processes “to remain in history”.

After the meetings, delegates left the meetings showing enthusiasm and spoke of maintaining “close collaboration” with Mendonça.
