Alfonso Ribeiro is giving fans a glimpse into an intimate moment.
One day after longtime friend James Van Der Beek died on Feb. 11 at 48 following a battle with colorectal cancer, the Dancing With the Stars co-host shared a photo of his and the Dawson’s Creek star’s final moments together.
“This was taken by @vanderkimberly just a few minutes before I said my last goodbye,” Alfonso captioned Feb. 12 postwhich included a photo of him pressing his forehead to James’. “My last moment was making him laugh one last time. I really miss him already.”
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor had also provided a glimpse into his friendship with James—who shared children Olivia15, Joshua13, Annabel12, Emilia9, Gwendolyn7, and Jeremiah4, with Kimberly Van Der Beek—following his death.
“He was my true friend, brother and life guide,” he reflected on Instagram. “I was with him through this horrible journey to beat cancer. His family and friends went on this roller coaster ride. The highs when it looked like he had it beat, to the breaking lows of it coming back. I’ve learned so much from james.”
