The Minas Gerais Court ordered the arrest of the 35-year-old man who had been acquitted after having a relationship with a 12-year-old girl. The decision was made by judge Magid Nauef Láuar who accepted, in a monocratic decision, a request made by the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG).
Judge Magid Nauef Láuar, from the 9th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG), also issued an arrest warrant for the child’s mother.
Magid Láuar was responsible for the decision that cleared the man. In the TJMG trial, he acquitted the 35-year-old man accused of rape of a 12-year-old girl.
After the decision, the judge became the target of an investigation by the CNJ due to allegations of sexual harassment against him.
