Police release video of the moment of Luigi Mangione’s arrest in a cafeteria in Pennsylvania A man was arrested on Wednesday (28) after posing as an FBI agent and trying to free Luigi Mangione from a federal prison in New York, in the United States, according to ABC News and The New York Times. According to the American press, Mark Anderson, 36, presented himself at the prison as a federal agent and claimed to have a court order to release Mangione. He carried a pizza cutter and a barbecue fork in his bag, according to investigative documents. ABC News reported that Anderson said he had papers signed by a judge to release one of the inmates. Sources with knowledge of the case told the network and the New York Times that the man was trying to free Mangione. According to the American press, prison system officials asked Anderson to present identification documents. He allegedly showed a driver’s license and threw other papers at the agents. Afterwards, Anderson stated that he was carrying a backpack with weapons. According to the investigation, however, he was only carrying a pizza cutter and a barbecue fork. Luigi Mangione has been in prison since December 2024. He is accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in front of a New York hotel. Mangione, 27, was arrested days later at a McDonald’s restaurant. When approached, he introduced himself as “Mark Rosario” and handed over a false identity.
