A man drew the attention of internet users after demonstrating the operation of a robot that clears snow during a snowstorm.

The device was shown by Tom Moloughneya New Jersey resident who runs a popular YouTube channel focused on charging technology and electric vehicles.

In the video, Tom demonstrated the operation of his autonomous snow blower Yarbo clearing the driveway of his home, approximately 550 square meters, during a storm.

“This will be a great test to see if this robot can handle a 557-square-meter driveway during a major winter storm. I’m inside having a coffee while it’s doing its job, and so far, so good!” he said on his X profile.

Tom also mentioned that the machine would recharge up to about 80% after roughly 1.25 hours before automatically returning to resume work.

As the storm progressed, Tom said he kept his Yarbo snow blower running continuously, allowing it to clear snow in multiple passes instead of waiting until the storm ended.

He remotely restarted the machine when snow accumulated, letting it return to its charging base, recharge, and go back on its own. According to him, this strategy helped keep his long driveway “manageable,” even as snow and ice continued to build up.

In his review video, posted on his YouTube channel earlier this month, Tom emphasized that he noticed some flaws in the machine during the test. For example, the robot got stuck shortly after hitting a pile of snow left behind by a previous clearing.

Later, it continued operating with only one side of its auger spinning after a cutting pin broke—a problem he didn’t notice until returning home. This led Tom to give the product an overall rating of “C to C+.”
