In northern Romania, near the border with Ukraine, a repair center for Marder infantry fighting vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces was launched.

The facility, called Service Hub Satu Mare, was launched at short notice and is intended to accelerate the recovery of combat-damaged vehicles to maintain the operational readiness of the fleet used in the conflict.

According to Rheinmetall, the new center is fully equipped to carry out complex repairs, including the removal of damage resulting from combat operations. Its strategic location near Ukraine shortens transport time and allows armored vehicles to return to line service more quickly.

Germany has already delivered 140 Marder 1A3s to Ukraine and has publicly announced the delivery of further batches. As part of the so-called In the “ring exchange”, the Chilean government agreed to sell 30 Marder 1A3 vehicles from the stocks of the Chilean army in order to supplement the German inventory.

The vehicles provided by Rheinmetall were previously used by the German land forces and before being sent to Ukraine they undergo extensive inspection and modernization processes. This stage guarantees that armored vehicles will enter the theater of operations in appropriate technical condition.
