Ukraine’s 110th Mechanized Brigade managed to shoot down a Russian Shahed drone using a Shrike FPV drone, marking further progress in the adaptation of short-range air defense.
The action was recorded in video and was confirmed by the manufacturer itself, which highlighted the use of the 10-inch Ukrainian FPV model during the interception.
The images show the moment the Shrike approaches the target in flight and destroys it. The episode underlines the transition towards a new combat concept based on the “drone against drone” model, considered more flexible and economical in the face of the threats posed by Shahed drones.
The Shrike functions as a guided munition, controlled directly by the operator, capable of hitting small, fast targets with high precision. The same type of drone had previously been used to destroy a Russian Mi-8 helicopter, demonstrating that its application goes beyond simple UAV interception.
In addition to reducing costs compared to the use of anti-aircraft missiles, the solution allows front-line units to autonomously protect the airspace. According to experts, the expansion of this model could establish a continuous tactical interception system, consolidating Ukrainian FPV drones as true aerial interceptors on the battlefield.
