US President Donald Trump stated this Wednesday (28) that the fleet of ships he sent to Iran is prepared to “accomplish its mission with speed and violence”, in the same way that occurred in Venezuela.
“Just like in Venezuela, (the fleet) is ready, willing and able to carry out its mission quickly”, and with “violence if necessary”, warned Trump in a post on his own social network, Truth Social.
In the same message, he said he hoped that Iran would “soon” sit at the negotiating table to reach an agreement that was “fair and equitable” for all parties and in which there were no “nuclear weapons”.
“Time is running out, it’s really essential! As I told Iran once, REACH AN AGREEMENT! They didn’t and Operation Midnight Hammer occurred”, recalled the American president, referring to the US attack during the so-called Twelve Day War, which took place between Israel and Iran in June 2025.
According to Trump, that fight represented “great destruction for Iran”, but the next attack “will be much worse”.
“Don’t let this happen again,” he warned.
The Republican’s message comes after the arrival in the Middle East of an American Navy fleet that Trump had ordered to head to Iran following the protests that have rocked the country since the end of December 2025.
The demonstrations, especially those on January 8th and 9th, were violently suppressed by the Islamic Republic regime and, currently, there are no longer any relevant events in the country. Despite this, Trump maintained the instruction to send the fleet to the region.
Thus, the US Navy contingent, led by the nuclear aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, heads towards Iran with “speed”, “determination” and “enthusiasm”. According to Trump, the force is even greater than the one sent to Venezuela for the operation that resulted in the removal of dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in early January.
For its part, the Iranian regime signaled this Wednesday that it considers a military confrontation more likely than a negotiation with the USA, after days of increased tension between both countries due to Trump’s decision to send the fleet to the region.
