Tourists with World Cup tickets will have priority in the US visa interview

by Marcelo Moreira

Tourists who have tickets to the World Cup will have preference in the analysis for granting American visas.

The preferential queue had already been announced by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in November and was officially opened this week.

The FIFA PASS program allows ticket holders for this year’s World Cup games to schedule priority visa interviews before the tournament.

Tourists from any of the countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program can apply using the Electronic Travel Authorization System.

According to FIFA and the US State Department, the measure will ensure that all tourists who purchased tickets for the World Cup are interviewed in advance.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams and will be held in 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
