Sílvio Costa Filho announces departure from Ministry of Ports and Airports to run for seat in the Senate

The Minister of Ports and Airports, Sílvio Costa Filho, announced this Wednesday (14) that he will leave his position to run for a seat in the Senate in the 2026 elections for the Republicans (PE). The expectation is that the exit will take place by April, due to electoral rules.

Costa Filho stated that he already has a name in mind to occupy the chair and that, at the right time, he will present it to President Lula, who will have the final word.

The information was disclosed during the presentation of the results of the port, airport and waterway sector for 2025.

The minister should meet with Lula today at 4:30 pm.
