North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un promised “unconditional” support for all decisions and policies of his Russian ally Vladimir Putin in a letter sent to the Kremlin leader and published this Friday (9) by the North Korean state news agency KCNA.
“I will unconditionally respect and support all your policies and decisions, and I am ready to always stand by your side for your sake and for the sake of Russia. This decision will be constant and permanent,” Kim wrote in the letter.
The North Korean dictator also emphasized the “pride” he feels in his friendship with Putin, which he described as his most “valuable” relationship.
The letter, sent the day before, was a response to a congratulatory message from the Russian dictator, who, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhapmay have been sent to celebrate Kim’s birthday on January 8th.
Russia and North Korea signed a strategic partnership treaty in June 2024, and shortly thereafter, South Korean intelligence began warning about sending North Korean troops to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
According to South Korean intelligence, Pyongyang has mobilized approximately 15,000 troops in support of Russia. In return, Kim Jong-un’s regime received foreign currency, goods and technology from Moscow.
