On the morning of this Friday (16), the Public Ministry of São Paulo, through the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO), the General Inspectorate of the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo and the GAECO of the State of Pará launched Operation Serpens, which investigates the involvement of a newly appointed Police Chief with the criminal organization Primeiro Comando da Capital.
According to what was determined, delegate Layla Ayub maintained a personal and professional relationship with members of the criminal faction, including irregularly acting as a lawyer, in custody hearings, for prisoners who were members of criminal organizations, after taking office as delegate.
Seven search and seizure warrants were executed in the cities of São Paulo and Marabá, issued by the 2nd Specialized Organized Crime Court of the Capital, as well as two temporary arrest warrants against the police chief and a member of the PCC criminal faction, who was on conditional release.
