The Civil Police launched an operation this Wednesday morning (21) aimed at the illegal sale of boxes at São Paulo FC’s Morumbis stadium.
The operation carried out search and seizure warrants in the capital. In total, four warrants were served against three people under investigation: Mara Casares, ex-wife of Julio Casares, president removed from office, who served as women’s director of culture and events, Douglas Schwartzmann, deputy director of youth football at São Paulo, who is removed from office, and businesswoman Rita de Cassia Adriana Prado, who illegally negotiated the boxes.
In a press conference about the operation carried out, prosecutor José Reinaldo Guimarães Carneiro stated that the stadium “was transformed into a gigantic slot machine” and said that the operation was a success, allowing them to be aware that the fundraising period against São Paulo FC takes place longer than they imagined and that it involves more people than was also speculated. Carneiro makes it clear that the club is a victim in the situation.
