Milei speaks at an event promoted by the right in Argentina

by Marcelo Moreira

The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, attended this Tuesday (27) the third edition of the The Right Festpresented as “the most anti-leftist event in the country”, where he spoke to his supporters in defense of the free market and freedom of expression.

“Argentina is showing the world that the true path is that of the right,” he declared in his speech.

“During my government, in the last two years, I demonstrated that liberalism is superior in practice due to the effects it produces. In other words, people prosper when the State stops being oppressive”, stated the president at the beginning of the speech, after making his way to the stage among his supporters.

Milei argued that the world is facing a “major paradigm shift” and that, in the internet age, “information travels at the speed of light and allows citizens to educate themselves like never before.”

“This puts authoritarian regimes and their accomplices, the media, under control,” he said, referring to the internet blockade implemented by Iran’s regime in response to the massive protests that erupted in late 2025.

“Thanks to the internet and popular creativity, we were able to create the most cost-effective campaign in history,” emphasized the president, before thanking his supporters for the “enormous work” carried out on social media.

He celebrated the fact that humans are “teaching stones and metals to reason” and criticized the “controllers-as-usual” who demand regulations for the artificial intelligence industry.

He also referred to Elon Musk as “the greatest entrepreneur in history” and criticized “sponsored people” with ties to the State.

“The only bad monopoly is the one created by law, because if it is a virtuous process, there is only one competitor left, and you have no right to attack him,” said Milei.

Well-known figures on the Argentine right also participated in the event, such as Agustín Laje and Nicolás Márquez. Congresswoman Lilia Lemoine and the mayor of General Pueyrredón — the city where Mar del Plata is located — Guillermo Montenegro, among others, were also present.

Described on social media as “the most anti-leftist event in the country” and organized by the political consultancy Arcano Strategy Group, the newspaper La Derecha Diario and the publisher Hojas del Sur, the event serves as a platform for the Argentine right to reinforce its cultural battle against the left.

This Tuesday, the president attended a show starring his former partner, comedian Fátima Flores, in the city and took to the stage to sing a version of “El rock del gato”, by the Argentine band Los Ratones Paranoicos.

Less than 50 meters from the theater, his supporters — shouting “President, President” — clashed with opponents who demanded “He has to leave, he has to leave.”

Milei’s visit to Mar del Plata, which began on Monday with a van ride through the city center, is part of her “Gratitude Tour”, in gratitude for the 49.30% of votes obtained by La Libertad Avanza in the district of General Pueyrredón in the 2025 legislative elections.
