President Lula signed this Friday (23) a Provisional Measure (MP) that guarantees special legal protection for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Brazil.
The MP was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Friday and regulates the use of brands, official symbols and broadcasting and media rights, within the commitments made by the country to host the competition.
The text was signed on the eve of the official launch of the World Cup brands, scheduled by FIFA for next Sunday (25).
André Fufuca, Minister of Sports, says that the World Cup is a way to strengthen the visibility of women’s football worldwide, in addition to developing the sport in Brazil.
“We are ready to hold the best Women’s Cup in history and guarantee a social legacy for all girls and women in Brazil,” said Fufuca.
The competition will take place between June 24th and July 25th, 2027 in eight cities in Brazil: Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo.
