Lightning struck the central area of Brasília during the walk led by federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira, who is calling for freedom for those arrested for the acts of January 8, and left at least 30 people injured, according to preliminary information released by the authorities.
According to the first surveys, nine victims are in serious condition. The group was gathered near the JK Memorial, when they were surprised by the electrical discharge.
Teams from the Fire Department, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and security forces were called and provided care to the victims at the scene. The area was isolated for rescue work.
The circumstances of the incident continue to be investigated, and injury numbers may be updated.
