Iran’s Islamic regime threatened this Wednesday (28) to attack Israel, targets linked to the United States and countries that support Washington if there is an American military intervention against Iranian territory. The warning was made by Ali Shamkhani, political advisor to supreme leader Ali Khamenei, amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to Shamkhani, any military action by the United States will be treated as the start of a war. In a publication on X, the advisor stated that the Iranian response would be “immediate, comprehensive and unprecedented”, targeting “the aggressor, the heart of Tel Aviv and all those who support him”.
American President Donald Trump recently ordered the deployment of a naval fleet to the Middle East. According to Trump, the ships are ready to “accomplish their mission quickly and violently” if Tehran does not agree to negotiate a new nuclear agreement with the US.
According to the American president, the objective of military pressure is to force Iran to resume negotiations for an agreement that is “fair and equitable” and that prevents the development of nuclear weapons by the Islamic regime. Trump said he hoped Tehran would sit at the negotiating table “soon”.
The deployment of the fleet comes after protests that have shaken Iran since the end of December and which are being repressed by the country’s authorities. According to the Iranian regime, the United States and Israel were behind the demonstrations, which began for economic reasons and later began to demand the end of the Islamic regime.
According to figures released by Tehran, the clashes left 3,117 people dead. Opposition organizations, such as the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), based in the United States, claim that the number of victims could reach 6,126 dead.
