The founder of Gol and president of the company’s board of directors, Constantino Junior, died this Saturday morning (24) at the age of 57, in São Paulo.
He was admitted to a hospital in São Paulo and had been fighting cancer for years. Constantino and his family founded Gol 25 years ago and today it accounts for between 30% and 33% of the Brazilian aviation market.
Currently, the company is controlled by the Abra group, which also operates the Colombian company Avianca, with 80% of the controlling interest after the conclusion of the judicial recovery process in July last year.
