LIWA OASIS, United Arab Emirates, January 27, 2026 – Genesis Motor revealed this Tuesday the X Skorpio Concept, an off-road concept car developed to tackle extreme terrains, during an event held in the Rub’ al Khali desert, known as the “Empty Quarter”, in the United Arab Emirates.

The presentation included dynamic demonstrations in real desert driving conditions.

In addition to the X Skorpio, the brand displayed other conceptual models aimed at off-road use: GV60 Outdoors Concept, GV70 Outdoors Concept and GV80 Desert Edition. According to the manufacturer, the vehicles are part of a new concept car strategy that seeks to deepen the brand’s emotional connection with its customers and explore new territories of design and performance.

Extreme off-road concept

The X Skorpio Concept is Genesis’ first project aimed at extreme off-roading. Inspired by the black scorpion, the model was designed to operate in hostile environments, such as deserts, combining advanced technical capabilities with the brand’s characteristic luxury proposal.

According to Genesis, the development of the concept involved a team specialized in off-road engineering and design, with a focus on structural robustness and functionality. The vehicle uses a tubular chassis, complete roll cage and components from suppliers specializing in off-road endurance competitions.

“The

Nature-inspired design

The look of the X Skorpio Concept was developed based on the anatomy and defensive behavior of the black scorpion. The body’s curves resemble the animal’s arched tail, while segmented panels resemble an exoskeleton, designed to facilitate quick repairs in extreme environments.

Functional elements, such as the air intake on the roof and the high, balanced stance, reinforce the off-road character of the concept. Genesis’ traditional Two-Line lighting design was integrated into the front and rear light assemblies, maintaining the brand’s visual identity even in a radical profile design.

Interior focused on performance and comfort

The interior of the X Skorpio Concept was designed to offer comfort and safety in harsh conditions, going beyond the utilitarian approach common in extreme off-road vehicles. The cabin features ergonomic seats, intuitive controls and climate control systems designed to reduce driver fatigue.

The instrument panel is integrated into the steering wheel, allowing information to be read without looking away from the route. A sliding display can be configured for exclusive use by the driver or co-driver, making navigation on complex trails easier. Safety handles, advanced communication systems and ergonomics solutions complete the set.

Performance, engineering and security

Equipped with a high-performance V8 engine that delivers 1,100 horsepower of power and 850 foot-pounds of torque, the X Skorpio Concept sets new benchmarks for off-road driving. The model uses 18-inch beadlock wheels with custom 40-inch off-road tires, a combination designed to maximize grip and durability on rough terrain.

The braking system includes Brembo Motorsport brakes, which increase braking power and response in extreme situations, contributing to precise control of the vehicle. With generous approach and departure angles, a short wheelbase and a high break-over angle, the concept also features a finely tuned suspension and extreme ground clearance, allowing it to overcome severe obstacles without compromising its structural integrity.

High-clearance fenders, reinforced skid plates and precision-engineered components work together to reduce the risk of damage or jams. Safety is treated as a central element of the project, with an integrated roll cage, four-point harness and reinforced structures to protect the driver and passengers.

The construction uses a combination of fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar, seeking a balance between structural strength and weight reduction.

Focus on Middle Eastern lifestyle

According to Genesis, the X Skorpio Concept has been adapted to the automotive culture and lifestyle of the Middle East, where off-road racing and high-speed recreational driving are common practices. In large desert environments, the vehicle demonstrates its ability to climb dunes and “surf” the sand with stability and control.

The optimized aerodynamic design reduces drag and maximizes stability, keeping the vehicle controlled both in contact with the ground and during lifting moments, ensuring safe landings and predictable behavior.

New approach to concept cars

The desert unveiling marks the beginning of a new Genesis approach to its concept cars, focusing on real driving experiences and specific lifestyles, such as off-roading and exploration. So far, the brand has not confirmed production plans for the models shown.
