The body of Marcos da Mata Ribeiro, aged 68, was found by firefighters in a stream on Avenida Carlos Caldeira Filho, in the south of São Paulo, this Saturday morning (17). The family of the elderly couple who disappeared after their car was swept away by the rains that hit the capital on Friday afternoon (16) recognized the body.
At 5:52 am this Saturday, the Fire Department resumed the search for the victims. Maria Deusdete da Mata Ribeiro, 67 years old, and Marcos were on the street when their car was taken away by the flood. According to the corporation, the actions will continue until Maria is located.
The storm that hit São Paulo caused rivers to overflow, floods and left people stranded on several roads in the city.
