General Directorate of Armaments (DGA) completed the delivery of the first 30 armored vehicles at the end of 2025 Serval Support Scorpion For Armyas part of a global order for 530 vehicles signed on December 31, 2024.
The contract value exceeds 1 billion euros and is part of efforts to modernize the French land forces.
The first tranche of deliveries takes place in a more complex and demanding operational environment, with an emphasis on high-intensity conflicts. The Serval Appui Scorpion is derived from the Serval armored vehicle developed under the Scorpion program and inherits its key military features such as mobility, protection, autonomy and power projection.
According to DGAthe platform is characterized by a high level of performance and a modular architecture, extended by the integration of new functions with high added value. These capabilities will allow the French Army to expand and update specific tasks, including:
Anti-aircraft protection for subunits, with a version equipped with a turret enabling the launch of Mistral 3 surface-to-air missiles from under the armor cover;
Combating drones, through a variant equipped with radar, a radiofrequency detection system, a fire control system, a 30-113 mm cannon mounted in a tower and specialized ammunition;
Tactical communications nodes, including Syracuse IV satellite communications capabilities, radio links, and communications distribution systems.

Deliveries of all 530 Serval Appui Scorpion armored vehicles are to be carried out gradually by 2033, as part of the program Multipurpose Light Tactical Vehicle (LTPV).
Production is carried out by a French industrial consortium led by KNDS France (plants in Satory, Bourges and Roanne) and Texelis (Limoges), as well as by key subcontractors such as MBDA, Safran Electronics & Defense, CS Group and KNDS Ammo France, located in various regions of France.
