China is preparing a comprehensive modernization of the J-20 stealth fighter, with improvements in radar, engines and integration of artificial intelligence, to reinforce the role of the fifth-generation jet in aerial warfare.
According to military analyst Zhang Xuefeng, in an interview with state broadcaster CCTV, the “Mighty Dragon” also operates in an integrated manner with stealth drones and early warning aircraft, expanding the combat capacity of the Chinese Air Force.
In service since 2017, the J-20 has become a symbol of the country’s military modernization and the People’s Liberation Army’s main bet against the United States’ most advanced stealth fighters.
