In 2025, vehicle sales in Brazil totaled 5,124,544 registered units, an increase of 8.02% over the previous year, higher than the forecast of 7.2%. The data was released this Tuesday (13) by the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave).

Sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles – such as pickup trucks and vans – had a positive performance of 2.58% compared to 2024, the best post-pandemic result. Adding the sales of buses and trucks to that of light commercial vehicles, there was a registration of 2,689,179 units, which represented an increase of 2.08%.

The registration of electrified cars and light commercial vehicles – both hybrid and purely electric – totaled 285,097 units, resulting in a growth of 60.8% compared to 2024. The numbers demonstrate that, despite representing a smaller volume, electric vehicles have seen gradual growth in the market.

Motorcycles had a record performance: 2,197,308 units, representing an increase of 17.13%. According to the entity, sales are boosted not only by the choice for individual transport, but also by professional use for deliveries, a modality that continues to grow. Electric motorcycles totaled 8,552 units, an increase of 9.35%.

The entity’s projections for 2026 foresee more moderate total growth, with 5.25 million units registered, representing an increase of 6.1% over 2025.
