Russian consortium Uralvagonzavod posted a video showing the delivery of a new batch of armored engineering support vehicle IMR-3M to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The delivery was made on the eve of the country’s Engineer Troops Day.
According to the consortium, the IMR-3M is intensively used in the conflict on Ukraine. Operational experience and soldiers’ comments led to recent modernizations of the vehicle, which received electronic warfare systems and additional protection against drones, in line with solutions also used in main battle tanks.

The IMR-3M is a third-generation engineering vehicle developed on the main battle tank platform T-90with an increased level of anti-radiation protection. The vehicle was designed to directly support the attack of military columns, clear routes and overcome obstacles in a combat environment.
The main equipment includes a universal dozer blade with hydraulic drive and a multifunctional telescopic boom that can work as a manipulator, grabber, straight or inverted blade and a scraper-excavator. The electromagnetic mine clearing system allows the IMR-3M to independently overcome minefields and create safe passages for other vehicles.

The vehicle is also equipped with chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) reconnaissance equipment and can cross water obstacles (such as rivers or canals) without the use of bridges or ferries, at depths of up to five meters. The total weight of the vehicle is 50.8 tons, the maximum road speed is 50 km/h and the range is approximately 500 km.
Hiring provides a quadelling, multi-paal-powered high-speed V-84MS with a power of 840hp. As defensive armor IMR-3M can be equipped with a 12.7 mm NSWT machine gun.

One of the distinguished features of the system is the possibility of remote operation. The vehicle can be controlled remotely using a portable console or operate autonomously after programming an operating algorithm for a specific route, which increases crew safety in high-risk environments.
