The incredible Christmas Truce of 1914 during World War I

That Christmas Eve, thousands exchange small gifts: corned beef for Christstollen, sausages for Christmas pudding. The soldiers share wine, rum and cigarettes and show each other photos of their fiancées, wives and children. They exchange uniform buttons as souvenirs. Most are British and German, but some French soldiers also interrupt the fighting to bring their stocks of champagne for Christmas.
