Russia attacked Kiev and regions in the northeast and south of Ukraine with drones and missiles, in the early hours of Saturday (27). At least two people died and another 44 were injured, according to information from CNN Brazil. The offensives took place one day before the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and United States President Donald Trump.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that there were also reports of fires and explosions. The attacks included Kinzhal-type hypersonic missiles and hit electrical infrastructure, according to Ukrainian media.
The municipal administration reported that around 2,600 buildings were left without heating, in addition to 320,000 homes without heating, amid temperatures close to zero degrees.
As bombings intensified, Poland closed two airports in the northeast of the country and mobilized military planes to monitor the airspace.
The Ukrainian president announced that he intends to travel to Florida to meet with Trump on Sunday (28), when the draft peace plan, bilateral security guarantees and an economic agreement are expected to be discussed. “The 20-point plan we are working on is 90% ready. Our task is to ensure that everything is 100% ready,” said Zelensky, highlighting that issues such as possible territorial concessions are still open.
