The holding company Russian Helicopters has completed the delivery of a new batch of multipurpose Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to three Russian airlines, increasing transport availability in strategic areas of the country’s Far North and Far East.
The aircraft were delivered as part of an investment project by GTLC to renew the national helicopter fleet.
The Mi-8MTV-1 is designed to operate in virtually all climatic conditions and maintains reliable performance over a wide temperature range from −50 °C to +50 °C. The helicopters can be equipped with additional fuel tanks of 915 liters each, which significantly increases the range — a decisive factor for missions over large territories with limited infrastructure.

The delivered helicopters are configured to carry 22 passengers and have a modular cabin interior that enables quick conversion for aeromedical evacuation by installing medical modules. The aircraft can also be equipped with an external cargo hook system, which makes it possible to transport up to four tonnes of suspended cargo.
Two of the helicopters were assigned to operator Barguzin. Two more units were delivered to the 2nd United Air Squadron in Arkhangelsk and the airline Alrosa, respectively. As tradition dictates, representatives of the companies received symbolic keys during the handover ceremony.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry of Russia Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Director of Rosaviatsia, Dmitry Yadrov.

According to the head of the industrial group Nikolaj Kolesov, the state-owned company Rostec, with the support of the ministries of industry, trade and transport, continues to ensure the delivery of new aircraft to remote regions, which are considered vital for territorial development and logistical coherence. In recent years, Russian Helicopters has supplied more than 100 aircraft to the regions through contracts concluded with GTLC alone.
