Russian Helicopters Holding has completed the delivery of a new batch of Mi-8MTV-1 multipurpose helicopters to three Russian airlines, expanding the accessibility of transportation in the strategic regions of the Far North and Far East of the country.
The aircraft were supplied as part of a GTLC investment project aimed at renewing the national helicopter fleet.
Designed to operate in almost any climate, the Mi-8MTV-1 maintains reliable performance over a wide temperature range from −50 °C to +50 °C. The helicopters can be equipped with additional fuel tanks of 915 liters each, which significantly extends the flight range — a decisive factor for missions in areas with large areas and limited infrastructure.

The delivered helicopters are configured for 22 passengers and feature a modular interior, which allows rapid conversion for aeromedical evacuation by installing medical modules. The aircraft can also be equipped with an external hook on cables, allowing the transport of up to four tons of suspended cargo.
Two of the aircraft were assigned to operator Barguzin. Two other units were delivered, respectively, to the United Air Squadron no. 2 from Arkhangelsk and Alrosa airline. According to tradition, company representatives received symbolic keys during the handover ceremony.
The event was honored by the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Anton Alikhanov, the Minister of Transport, Andrey Nikitin, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, as well as the director of Rosaviatsia, Dmitry Yadrov.

According to Nikolay Kolesov, director of the industrial group, the state corporation Rostec, with the support of the ministries of Industry and Trade and Transport, continues to ensure the delivery of new aircraft to remote regions, considered vital for territorial development and logistical connectivity. In recent years, the Russian Helicopters holding company has delivered more than 100 aircraft to the regions exclusively through contracts concluded with GTLC.
