The Russian Helicopters holding has completed the delivery of a new batch of Mi-8MTV-1 multifunctional helicopters to three Russian airlines, expanding transport accessibility in strategic regions of the country’s Far North and Far East.
The aircraft were supplied as part of a GTLC investment project, aimed at renewing the national helicopter fleet.
Designed to operate in virtually any weather condition, the Mi-8MTV-1 maintains reliable performance over a wide range of temperatures, from −50 °C to +50 °C. The aircraft can receive additional fuel tanks of 915 liters each, which significantly extends the flight range — a decisive factor for missions in areas with large territorial extensions and limited infrastructure.

The helicopters delivered have a configuration for 22 passengers and a modular interior, allowing rapid conversion for aeromedical evacuation with the installation of medical modules. It is also possible to equip the aircraft with an external cable hook, making it possible to transport up to four tons of suspended cargo.
Two of the aircraft were destined for the carrier Barguzin. Another two units were delivered to the Arkhangelsk 2nd United Air Squadron and the Alrosa airline respectively. As part of the tradition, company representatives received symbolic keys during the handover ceremony.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Transport Andrey Nikitin, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the director of Rosaviatsia Dmitry Yadrov.

According to Nikolay Kolesov, director of the industrial group, the state corporation Rostec, with the support of the Ministries of Industry and Commerce and Transport, continues to guarantee the supply of new aircraft to remote regions, considered vital for territorial development and logistical connectivity. In recent years, the Russian Helicopters holding has delivered more than 100 aircraft to the regions solely through contracts signed with GTLC.
