Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, decreed this Friday (26) the preventive detention of Silvinei Vasques. The former director of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) was arrested this Friday (26) in Asunción, Paraguay, after breaking the electronic ankle bracelet and trying to board a flight to El Salvador.
Silvinei had been on provisional release since 2024 with an electronic ankle monitor and several restrictions, which included not leaving the district, night-time confinement, delivery of a passport, ban on social media. He lived in São José, in Greater Florianópolis.
“The defendant’s escape, characterized by the violation of the precautionary measures imposed without any justification, authorizes the conversion of the precautionary measures into preventive detention”, says Moraes, in the decision.
