Iran says it is at “total war” with the US, Israel and Europe

Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, said in an interview published this Saturday (27) that the country is in “total war” with the United States, Europe and Israel.

In their words, these Western powers want to bring Iran “to its knees”, which it will not allow, according to reports in the Iranian state press.

Pezeshkian considered in the interview that the current conflict is “more complex” than the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s, as Tehran is now under pressure “from all sides.”

According to the Iranian president, in the conflict of the 1980s, “the situation was clear, they fired missiles and we knew where to hit.” This time, he said, “they [Estados Unidos, Europa e Israel] They are besieging us from all sides, creating problems for us in terms of livelihood, culturally, politically and in terms of security.”

Despite indirectly admitting that the country has faced difficulties since the American attacks in June, Pezeshkian stated that the Iranian armed forces emerged “strengthened” from the conflict with Israel and the United States. At the time, Donald Trump’s government authorized the launch of air strikes against nuclear infrastructure in the Persian country.

“Our beloved military forces are carrying out their duties with vigor and now, in terms of equipment and personnel, despite all the problems we face, they are stronger than when they attacked. Therefore, if they want to attack, they will naturally find a more decisive response,” he said.

With the “12-day war”, as the rapid June conflict initiated by Israel became known, tensions remain high between the countries and their allies. Israeli strikes resulted in approximately 1,100 deaths in Iran, according to local media, including senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, while Iranian missile strikes killed 28 people in Israel.

Tehran’s statements come shortly before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrives in the United States, where he is scheduled to meet on Monday (29) with American President Donald Trump in Florida.
