In Nazaré, a Brazilian surfer was submerged and was rescued

This Wednesday (03), surfer Carlos Burle, 58 years old, fell from a giant wave and was dragged to the bottom in Nazaré, Portugal.

Burle, one of the most experienced names in the sport, spent periods submerged in the turbulent sea and had to be rescued by his companions, such as Lucas Chumbo and Willyan Santana, also surfers. The episode ended with urgent care on the sand and tests at the hospital. Luckily, no serious injuries.

According to the surfer, the most critical moment happened after the fall, when he was taken too deep and it took him a while to activate the inflatable vest.

“I’ll never forget it. It was a very difficult day. I was very worn out and had no energy at all, but I was conscious the whole time.”, he reported in an interview with BandNewsTV

Burle stated that he was at his physical limit while trying to resist the pressure of the large mass of water, however, despite the strong image, he did not lose consciousness, but he was at his physical limit while trying to resist the pressure of the large mass of water.
