The Canadian government informed the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) this Friday (26) that it will resume the purchase of chicken meat from the country, months after suspension due to a case of bird flu identified on a farm in Rio Grande do Sul.
The North American country was the only one that still maintained restrictions on the import of Brazilian protein since May. The information was confirmed by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA).
After the disease was identified on May 16, several countries that were destinations for Brazilian meat temporarily abandoned the market.
Recently, the European Union (EU), countries in Latin America and Asia announced that trade flow with Brazil had been normalized.
